Sheila Marie Vaillancourt (Hanson)
April 22, 1976 – June 7, 2026
Sheila Marie Vaillancourt, age 50, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sheila will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and the deep love she had for her family. On June 22, 2019, she married the love of her life, John, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Sheila embraced her role as a stepmother and grandmother with joy and devotion. She became a wonderful stepmother to Carissa, Cassandra, Haley, and John, and treasured every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren, Alaia and Jon.
Being an aunt was one of Sheila's greatest joys. She loved her nieces and nephews deeply and took pride in celebrating their accomplishments, supporting them through life's challenges, and creating lasting memories with them. They meant the world to her, and the bond she shared with each of them was truly special.
Sheila is survived by her loving husband, John; her father, Jerry (Mary Helen) Hanson; her mother, Lynn Hanson (Steve Johnson); her siblings, Amie (Mark) and Tim; her in-laws, Jeff (Jessica) and Jenny (Don); her stepchildren, Carissa, Cassandra, Haley, and John; her grandchildren, Alaia and Jon; her nieces and nephews, Alexis (Dallas), Aidan, Donovan, Ashlyn, Christian, Adriana, and Gabriella; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Beecher; her grandparents, Mary and Gene Liljedahl, and Beatrice and Raymond Hanson.
Sheila also leaves behind her faithful companions, Jackson and Shiloh, whose unconditional love brought her comfort and joy throughout the years.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her sister-in-law, Jenny, for her loving care, compassion, and support, which allowed Sheila to remain at home surrounded by family during her final days.
Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing Sheila is free from pain and resting peacefully. She will be remembered for her resilience, her love of family, and the countless memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 225 in Forest Lake, Minnesota.
