Ham Lake, Minnesota
In a world full of ordinary, Keith R. Swanson was a limited edition - an extraordinaire. Born on August 16, 1956, Keith was a light that shone bright, enlightening our lives with his humor, creativity, and spirit until his final day on April 9, 2026. A Ham Lake, Minnesota native, he was a man of virtues, a clever machinist who could turn a piece of metal into a piece of art, and a witty humorist who could turn an ordinary day into a joy ride.
Keith was a man who wore many hats, literally and figuratively. As a machinist at Atlas Stamping until his retirement in 2023, he was known for his creativity and precision. Off the clock, his spirited nature lead him to explore a variety of hobbies - from admiring arts and aquariums to petting animals, tinkering with cars, and shooting guns. Most recently, he found peace in nurturing bonsai trees, a testament to his patience and love for life's small beauties. Mark Twain once said, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life." For Keith, his work was not just a job, it was a passion, a way to ensure that the ones he cherished were always taken care of.
Keith leaves behind his loving wife of 28 years, Kim Swanson, his cherished son Jerome; his adored daughter, Alissa Conn; his beloved step daughter Alisha Honkala; 2 amazing grandchildren, Ava and Damien; brother Dale; along with many nieces and nephews. He follows in the footsteps of his parents, Reuben and Gladys Swanson, who preceded him in death. Keith's love for his family was immeasurable. He was a man who knew the importance of love, laughter, and a good joke. His love for God, his family, and his girls was the driving force of his life, making him not just a machinist, but a maestro of love and life.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, "Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened." With Keith, we not only shared smiles but also shared laughter, wisdom, and unforgettable memories. We invite you to share your memories of Keith and upload photos to the memorial page. His spirit continues to live on in the stories we tell and the love we share. Our hearts are lighter knowing that he is crafting masterpieces in the heavens, probably chuckling at our mortal follies. Here's to Keith, the extraordinary, the irreplaceable, the unforgettable.
