Dr. Jane Christine (Peterson) Holmberg Ed.D January 26, 1956 – March 25, 2026
Jane Christine (Peterson) Holmberg, age 70, of Hanover, Minnesota, passed away following a recent diagnosis of Multiple Systems Atrophy.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Peterson and father, Henry Peterson Jr. Jane is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kevan Holmberg; her children Edward (Maria) Holmberg, Kirk (Amber) Holmberg, and Kristen (Chip) Locke; her sister Joan (Randall) Spencer, and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A lifelong learner and dedicated educator, Jane earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Olaf College, a Master's degree in Education Leadership from Augsburg University, and a Doctorate in Education Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota. She retired as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning at Intermediate District 287, a role that reflected her deep commitment to students and educators.

Jane was known for her sharp mind, quiet strength, and unwavering loyalty. She added intellect and humor to all situations. With an impressive range of interests, from cooking and travel to the arts and yoga, she embraced each pursuit with curiosity and skill. She left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her and will be deeply missed. In her final years, she found strength and community through Rock Steady Boxing, a program that embodies the same fighting spirit she carried throughout her life.
