Erich Jon Waxler, age 35, left this world too soon on May 31, 2026. Born on May 15, 1991, Erich was a deeply loved son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be remembered for his unique and vibrant soul, bringing an unforgettable energy into the lives of all who knew him. What mattered most to Erich was his family and spreading happiness to others, whether through a simple joke or helping in a time of need. He held a deep passion for the outdoors, whether he was snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, or boating. He loved camping, playing softball, and attending Wild hockey games. He also had a profound love and appreciation for Batman and the story of a hero who found strength in the dark.
Erich's dedication was not only evident in his hobbies but also in his work. He worked incredibly hard as an apprentice with the Plumbers Union 015 and in his schooling. His determination recently paid off, and Erich had completed his courses to become a Journeyman Plumber with Plumbers Union Local 015.
Erich felt things deeply and fought a quiet, heavy battle with mental health. While his family is heartbroken by his choice to end his life, they choose to remember the light he brought into the world, his sharp wit, and the beautiful moments shared together.
Erich is survived by his beloved mother, Nadine Waxler, and her partner Brian; his cherished sisters, Annie Strader (Tim) and Suzanne Hasian (Drew); his nieces, Mya, Layla, Danika, and Aubrey; his nephews, Levon and Wyatt; and his great-nephews, Rowan, Emmett, and Marshall. He is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins. He now joins those who preceded him in death: his father, Brent Waxler; his grandparents, Jordyce and James Waxler, and Donald and Gloria Staehnke; and his cousin, Heath Waxler. Erich's absence leaves a profound void, but his spirit and memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
We invite you to share your memories and photos of Erich on his memorial page, celebrating his life and love.
